Our First Visit with Santa

Even though it breaks all of Josh's "rules" (NO...i repeat....NOOOO Christmas anything before Thanksgiving!) I talked him into going to Monroe's Christmas on the Square. The event was a total bust....very much not worth our time and effort to load up the kids, pack bags, maneuver strollers....EXCEPT for the free picture with Santa.....which made it totally worth it, even to the point we said we would go again. No line, not a lot of people (which means less germs to make me worry about! I'm not a germ-a-phobe by any means, but don't want my babies to be unnecessarily sick either!) and FREE! Although the Santa we saw appeared to have dieted...or potentially had gastric bypass between last Christmas and now...the babies didn't seem scared at all! Avery even reached over to pet the furry cuffs on his coat! VERY cute, and a picture (i would like to cut myself out of) that we'll love to look back on in years to come!

7 months....way too much

I OFFICIALLY HATE THE BLOGGER PROGRAM.
After 10 minutes of furious typing (3 sleeping babies, could wake up anytime), and LOST IT ALL.
GRRRRRRRRRR.
Ok I’ll try to start over. (it’s now 8:10)

I cannot believe the babies are 7 months old. And I cannot believe how long it has been since I updated the blog! I know I say it all the time, but time is FLYING by. I thought at some point it might slow down, but it hasn’t. Ok…anyways on to the updates…
October 25…Baptism. The babies were WONDERFUL in church. They did so well through the service, even though I had to wake them up early, and even though they were due to eat anytime through the service time! We were ready with bottles for any peep, and they did great! (Colby and I spent a little time in the lobby, but no big deal!) We were so proud to stand up in front of the church and show off our babies and have them see their church family for the first time. It was kind of like ‘baby shuffle’ to get them all from our arms, to the pastor’s arms, baptized, and back to us, but it worked out great. Afterwards we had a great lunch with our families and then all slept well that night!
The week of October 30th…my birthday. I thought since I was now a mom, that meant I didn’t have to have a big deal made over me. (baby #1 now awake 8:13). WRONG! Starting on Wednesday, my friend Erin brought dinner, and more importantly her 7mo old daughter Hadley over to play and have “mommy catch up time”! It was so much fun being pregnant with some of my good friends, but now it’s so hard to keep up with everyone because we are all so crazy busy! We had a great visit though (baby #2 awake 8:15) Then Friday, Josh got up early so we could get the babies ready and out the door to go to see Dr. Chin, our fertility doctor, and his staff. I decided that was the best day to go because they gave me the best birthday presents I could ever wish for. It was so much fun visiting with them for a happy visit (vs. the 18 months of frustrating visits)! (baby #3 awake 8:23)

My time is precious…and I HATE when things waste my time. Do you know how often the babies all nap at the same time? Not very. If we’re in the car (can’t get anything done around the house) or if we’re on a walk (can’t get anything done around the house). Not complaining about their sleep habits, b/c they sleep great through the night, but I’m sleeping then too! (can’t get anything done around the house!) And I decide since I’ve been a terrible blogger to finally post, and the program has to fail me, yet again!
(resuming typing at 11:00….3 babies in bed, formula made, family room cleaned up, cookies in the oven =)!)
Ok Back to my birthday weekend…After visiting with Dr. Chin, we went to lunch at Max and Erma’s. The babies were great, and food was delicious…and free birthday cookies were a great way to end the meal! Then that night, the babies and I met my mom, Alex, Halley and my friend Mandy for dinner at Bravo! Another great meal and happy babies! (Except Zach on the way home….but he’s been doing that quite a bit lately! I finally learned that if I keep the interior light on it makes it a little better!) Then Saturday morning, Kristie, my wonderful, amazing friend from South Carolina and her hubby came home for a visit and was here bright and early to pick out the babies attire for the day and get them dressed….then the rest of the guests came over…Lindsey (another great friend and college roommate) and her husband and 2 year old son Jonathan, and Jackie (another great friend…that I’ve known since 5th grade!!), and her husband and her 6 month old son Zach. The men grilled out for lunch while we ladies played with babies and caught up a little bit! We had an awesome afternoon!!!

Then Halloween night, I got the bees all dressed and we went to Mamaw’s house!

(avoiding the trick-or-treaters here…b/c although it was 80 degrees on my birthday it was in the 50’s on Saturday, and our house is not set up for the babies to hang out on the landing with me…and it was too cold to be outside) Then we went over to their great-grandpa’s and hung out with him for a little bit! It was the perfect 1st Halloween for the babies!! (And to top it off, I gave them a few bites of whipped cream for dessert after their dinner…I felt bad since they didn’t get to enjoy any candy!! Had to fill in with something!!=) ) Then….(yes it keeps going!)…on Sunday Josh and my family came over to hang out for the afternoon! We had another fun day visiting with everyone! Then….(still going!)…on Monday, Josh completely surprised me and my mom and brother and halley showed up to babysit while josh and I went out to dinner!! (I really had no clue…I did take a shower that day ;) but came out in sweats thinking I was going to go on a walk…and josh said “you’re wearing that?!” and I said “yes, I’m going on a walk” and he said “No you’re not! We’re going to dinner!” It was a great surprise. Not only is josh an awesome daddy, but he is a great hubby too! (And a special thank you to my wonderful mom, brother and halley for taking care of the babies!) Then ….(this is the last thing, promise!)…on Tuesday, my great-aunt Del came down and took me, mom, alex and the babies out to lunch!! Like I said, I didn’t expect much of a celebration at all…and ended up with a week’s worth of celebration! What a great start to being 28 years old!
Did I mention time is flying?? AND Avery now has a 2nd tooth?! The babies are so much fun! Avery LOVES bouncing in her doorway jumper! So much so that she fell asleep in it a few weeks ago!! And the boys LOVE the exersaucers! We have one that is attached to a table so they can ‘walk’ around it, and they are getting the hang of it and think they are so cool since they are mobile! It’s so fun watching them play and explore and figure new things out! Zach is VERY close to crawling…he gets his chest up, and his rear end up, but not at the same time….and all 3 are very close to sitting up unassisted! Avery is still happy scooting around on her back, and Colby is just so big, that I don’t know if he will want to crawl….much less stress on the body to just get up and walk! They are loving sitting in their triplet table now and eat baby food twice a day, and are down to 4 bottles a day!! They sleep wonderfully through the night (11-anywhere between 8-10….then back down till about 11!), and nap as they need to through the day! Life with triplets is wonderful. I can’t imagine my life any other way. (p.s. we got more pictures taken with Tricia yesterday….here are the sneek peaks she sent!!)
