the past 3 months

..... And 3 months later, I have an update :) we have been so busy having fun! i am as exhausted as the kiddos are every night, if not more, and def no time to blog during the day! i have so much i want to say, but am going to have to pick the most important and quickest things i can get down, b/c i'm avoiding cleaning the house to write this post =)

halloween was a blast this year....we had 3 little troopers that walked all around the neighborhood pulling their wagon of candy (brilliant move on our part!) We had to bail on dinner b/c as we were eating, I looked out the window and saw kids in costumes walking down the street....apparently I had the time wrong! OOPS! they were much happier having candy for dinner anyways =)

thanksgiving was wonderful....it was so nice to have time to spend with both of our families and even with time to visit a little bit too. the kiddos were thrilled to see everyone and had such a fun day!

Christmas.....where to start?!.....they were at such a fun age this year! they LOVED santa, LOVED looking at the lights, LOVED the presents, LOVED learning about baby Jesus, and LOVED all the Christmas festivities we had! We went to the festival of lights at the zoo a few times, went to our Tri-State Multiples group Santa Lunch, went to Cookie Day (Josh's family's annual tradition), went to Prasco Park in Mason to see santa and found more sugary treats in one room than i've ever seen before!, went to an old fashioned carriage parade, visited EnterTRAINment Junction, a place that has a HUGE indoor train display, play area for the kids, and had a special winter/christmas train set up and Mrs. Claus (we went 2 days after christmas, so santa was already back at the north pole!), a "journey to bethlehem" put on by our church, and all our family get-togethers....so so many fun things that they absolutely LOVED! We saw santa a number of times this year and every time they asked him for a "guitar with no wheels". I have no idea where this came from (the 'no wheels' part) but Colby started it and the other 2 copied, so every.single.time...that's what santa heard. but he understood and they indeed did get 3 guitars with no wheels! =)

In the midst of the holiday craziness, we decided it was time for Avery to get her own room. We began the painting and clearing out and finally made the official switch-er-oo the Wednesday after Christmas and havent looked back! She loves her "purple room" and the boys now have a "firetruck room". They love tucking each other in at night and sleep SOOOO much better!!

We had a fun new years party with mamaw. just the 5 of us! Colby requested streamers be hung, and we had more food and drinks than we knew what to do with, but it was great to welcome the new year with my little loves and my mom!

Since the new year, we have been getting into a new routine. Josh switched to working 3rd Shift after working the same days 2nd shift since before the babies were born!

It has been a good change because he gets to see all of us more in the evening, and it's been a strange feeling to get used to having him around so much more! Some weeks are better than others for him 'switching' back and forth because he has to be up early on his off-days to take care of the kids so i can go to work, but so far so good!

Unfortunately today was one of the bad days for his schedule, he had to work late, and we woke him up early to go to US Bank Arena to see "Disney Presents Three Fairy Tales" Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy were the hosts to the Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast stories....this is a day I have been dreaming of my whole life. I was in heaven being there with MY kids, watching their faces light up and experiencing something new and so much fun for them and for me. I was so proud of how well behaved they were (oh and did i mention that we met our triplet friends there....so 6 2-year olds and their parents!?) As we were walking out Zach looked up and said "That was so much fun mommy!" Made it 100% worth skipping naps for that!

And what's winter without a snowball fight?? This kind was my favorite....Indoors!! Really we haven't had enough snow outside for a real one, but even when we get a dusting the kids are itching to get out and play in it! In order for all that goes in to bundling them up to get out there, mommy requires that at least an inch be on the ground! Hopefully that will happen soon!!
